RETAIL SECURITY

RTF is a manufacturer of retail display security products. Their extensive product line goes back to when the first bricks cell phones were being sold and it has grown and evolved as the times have changed. The current retail landscape includes smartphones that are priced up there with a well equipped laptop, meaning potential loss at retail level is higher than ever. The challenge here was to design and engineer an add-on for RTF’s already widely successful Vise system which would increase the assembly from two clamps to four while being adaptable enough for the full range of handset sizes, it needed to work with their existing tools and keys, be future proof, and lastly, really easy for store staff to install and remove while being nearly impossible for a thief to bypass.

 

There were a lot of discussions around materials and tolerances during the development phase which pushed the manufacturing partners to up their game and the end result for the production run is a security device that works incredibly well and is easy to use.
